Devils in Depth: Why the Hydro?

Frank (Finance)

I chose to be a finance major because I love numbers, business, and talking to people. I want to go into management consulting or maybe investment banking after college. It’s all coming up soon for me because I’m a senior.

I have a Hydroflask because it’s blue and it’s gorgeous. I love drinking water and I love being able to keep it cool. And, I mean, you can have it be cool all day long, so it’s really great. Also, I can stay hydrated in the desert, which clearly I’m not doing well at today. But I’m trying with my Hydro! It’s super important to have because dehydration is a thing, heat stroke is a thing, dying is a thing. Going insane in this heat is definitely a thing. You don’t want to be thirsty. The sustainability aspect is important, too. You’re not throwing away plastic all the time and you’re helping the earth. You’re not killing the turtles, which is also a plus. I just try to be conscious of those things because they matter.

Brenna (Marketing)

I was originally an Art Studies major but I decided it was a little too much for me. I still wanted to do something creative, though, so I just had to join the business school and I actually really love it. I’m a part of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity. I really enjoy it and it’s a great way to develop some good skills and make some good connections. We do our own career fairs which is really great, and we’re actually tabling for it right now.

I love this Hydroflask even though it has a few scratches on it! It’s really convenient in the sense that I don’t have to buy disposable bottles and then have to throw them away. It makes me feel really bad when I do that because it does hurt the environment and that’s something I care about. It’s just a waste. The funny thing with Hydros is that people want them because they keep their water really cold. But I actually don’t care if my water is cold or not. It really is just a water bottle to me, which I think is kind of funny.

Pranathi (Marketing)

I chose marketing because I want to study business and I want to work for a tech company. I’m in a business fraternity called Alpha Kappa Psi. It’s a fraternity that focuses on professional development and it’s for all majors. It gave me a big network of people. A lot of my friends are in Alpha Kappa Psi, and they’re my friends but they also help me a lot professionally.

I have a Hydroflask because I thought buying one would make me drink more water, and it keeps my water cold, which is important in Arizona. I was never a plastic water bottle drinker, like, I just always had a water bottle growing up. But I have multiple, so I’d always just pick whatever one was clean. But I feel like with the Hydro, I just always use that.
