After a busy first half of the semester, it may be tempting to spend your Spring Break on the couch (and that’s OK!). But if you’re in town for break and looking for ways to stay active, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite Arizona spring break destinations AND the outdoor activities that come with, all just a short road trip away.

  1. Lake Havasu

Travel time from Phoenix: 3 – 4 hours

ACTIVE-ities:

  • Watersports
    • Paddleboarding
    • Scuba diving
    • Wakeboarding & waterskiing
  • On the beach: You don’t have to go to Cali to find a sandy beach!
    • Yoga

Travel time from Phoenix: ~2 hours

ACTIVE-ities:

  • Horseback riding: Experience Sedona from the saddle!

  1. Grand Canyon National Park

Travel time from Phoenix: 3 ½ – 4 hours

ACTIVE-ities:

  • Hiking: With over 20 trails, the Grand Canyon provides some of the most beautiful and challenging hikes you’ll ever experience. But be sure you’re prepared – you won’t want to find yourself without enough food, water, and other supplies.  
  • Biking: The Grand Canyon’s South Rim has 13 miles of roads and trails that allow bicyclists to explore this wonder of the world – while getting a workout!
