Valentine’s Day from Home
This Valentine’s Day, it’s the perfect time for you and your significant other to get in some alone time together. Since we are still practicing social distancing, here are some great date ideas to put together at home!
- Go for a picnic.
The time has come for you to fish out the old quilt in the back of your closet. Now, where to put it? If you love the thought of staying home, your living room floor is a great option. But if you’re looking to take advantage of the nice weather, a local park is perfect. And for the food, we say to go with what sounds best to you! If you manage to avoid the Valentine’s Day rush, consider ordering takeout from your favorite restaurant. Or, if you want to get really fancy, put together your own charcuterie board. - Paint from home.
Wish you could do a paint date with Bob Ross? Us, too. Hopefully you can settle for a fun painting session with your partner, where you can commemorate your 2021 Valentine’s Day with a piece of art you’ll treasure forever. To get the paints and other materials you’ll need to make your masterpiece, order online or swing by a craft store. Then, you can pull up one of the free episodes on the official “Joy of Painting” Youtube channel and go to town! - Do breakfast in bed.
Breakfast food = best food, and eating from a mattress makes it that much better. To make breakfast, consider going fancy with eggs Benedict or stick to your favorite french toast recipe. As long as you have plenty of coffee to go with, either choice is sure to be a hit. - Relax with a movie night.
If you’re looking to relax and unwind, a movie night is a great option for your Valentine’s Day plans. Depending on your mood, go for an Old Hollywood romance, or try out the newest Netflix release. You can always start a new bingeworthy TV series together, too, if you’re in the mood for something a little more long-term. - Cook dinner together.
Although cooking may not be your strong suit, you may benefit from having another cook in the kitchen. Making a meal is a fun bonding exercise because you are working together towards a common goal: making a delicious meal to celebrate the holiday!
Whichever option you choose, just remember that spending time together is what’s important, whether or not you’ve reserved a table in a fancy restaurant. After all, nothing beats a cozy night in, even on Valentine’s Day!
