Candied Pecans Recipe

Candied Pecans

3 cups raw, unsalted pecan halves

1 cup granulated sugar

¼ cup water

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Pinch of cinnamon

  1. Heat large frying pan on medium heat. When hot, add the sugar, water, vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon.
  2. Mix until fully combined. Allow mixture to heat up, stirring occasionally.
  3. When the sugar has completely melted, add the pecans. Watch over the pan and continue stirring until most of the sugar has been coated and is beginning to crystallize.
  4. Remove pan from heat and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes. Then, use a wooden spoon to stir pecans together and to avoid immediate, overlarge clusters from forming.
  5. Allow to cool completely before breaking up the pecans.
