Candied Pecans Recipe

Candied Pecans
3 cups raw, unsalted pecan halves
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Pinch of cinnamon
- Heat large frying pan on medium heat. When hot, add the sugar, water, vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon.
- Mix until fully combined. Allow mixture to heat up, stirring occasionally.
- When the sugar has completely melted, add the pecans. Watch over the pan and continue stirring until most of the sugar has been coated and is beginning to crystallize.
- Remove pan from heat and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes. Then, use a wooden spoon to stir pecans together and to avoid immediate, overlarge clusters from forming.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking up the pecans.
