The dreaded “Freshman 15,” an extra 15 pounds students are said to gain their freshman year of college, is something that has haunted incoming students for decades. However, college newbies may rest easier knowing that they aren’t at a high risk of such a hefty weight gain, and the “Freshman 15” is largely a myth.

The Spring semester is almost finished! Before we celebrate the arrival of Summer break, it is important for us Sun Devils to not check out mentally but to finish the school year strong. A big part of that is preparing for finals week. Putting finals on your radar earlier rather than later as well as studying can help you pass your classes with flying colors! Below are some tips to get the best grades possible for your finals:

Totally Tasty Pudding

Have a sweet tooth after dinner? This pudding doesn’t come out of a packet, and the creaminess comes from a sneaky healthy ingredient — avocado!

To make your chocolate avocado pudding, simply blend together a few ingredients, let it chill for a bit and enjoy!

A diligent, trailblazing future businesswoman, Samantha Ferraro is taking ASU by storm with ambitions to jumpstart her own business after graduation and empower women like her not to be afraid of standing out in a male-dominated field.

This month’s theme is making friends.

 

 

Before starting at Arizona State University in 2020, Kevin served in the Marine Corps. After serving, he decided that he wanted to continue helping others, which led to his decision to major in social work.

However, needing an outlet for his sense of humor, Kevin spends his nights at comedy clubs, where he performs as a stand-up comedian. His stand-up comedy career began in 2017, when he took an improv class to get a little more comfortable with performing in front of a crowd.

 

Kathleen Harrison is a junior at the Polytechnic campus going for their Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry with a certificate in Sustainable Food Systems.  In addition to attending classes, Kathleen also works as a mortician.

Kathleen was seeking full-time employment after their departure from the military when they stumbled across a position as a removal technician for National Funeral Home in Falls Church, Virginia.  Essentially, removal technicians are “those who retrieve deceased people.”

If you’ve been juggling a lot this semester, junior Ci’mone Rogers is right there with you! With three separate internships and a full-time major in Business (Information Security), Ci’mone has had to introduce some new strategies in her life to make sure she’s staying balanced.
