Vinyasa is a popular style of yoga that focuses on dynamic, flowing sequences of poses. This Vinyasa class, taught by Hannah Rose, is great for beginners and experienced yogis, as you can tailor the moves to your preferred level of difficulty.

The workshop has a heavy emphasis on balancing poses, core strengthening, and inversions. Mindfulness is also explored during the session, and you get the chance to be meditative as you execute your poses.

If you love upbeat radio hits and burning calories, then Grind is for you! The class is a series of hip-hop dance combinations set to popular music. The dances are cardio-heavy and engage many body parts, but most of them center around shaking the hips.

The instructor, Danny, was helpful and motivating. He shouted constant words of encouragement and never stopped smiling. He explained that, at its simplest, Grind “is a class that focuses mainly on squeezing the core and the different movements that the hips can do.”

The SDFC welcomes its newest facility—the Adaptive Training Center (ATC), which is used as a workout space for athletes with physical disabilities.

The program is designed to empower athletes with physical challenges and help them grow both mentally and physically. It is now running at ASU every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

One tried and true method for stress management is meditation. In this meditation spotlight we focus on a simple technique that can be done from anywhere: box breathing, also called four square breathing.
