A diligent, trailblazing future businesswoman, Samantha Ferraro is taking ASU by storm with ambitions to jumpstart her own business after graduation and empower women like her not to be afraid of standing out in a male-dominated field.

“Devils in Depth” is a project that gets down to earth and captures the diversity of Arizona State’s student population. We engage in conversations with students in an effort to learn more about their passions and get a feel for who they really are. Then we ask them their thoughts on a central theme. This week’s theme is centered on love of all kinds.

Before starting at Arizona State University in 2020, Kevin served in the Marine Corps. After serving, he decided that he wanted to continue helping others, which led to his decision to major in social work.

However, needing an outlet for his sense of humor, Kevin spends his nights at comedy clubs, where he performs as a stand-up comedian. His stand-up comedy career began in 2017, when he took an improv class to get a little more comfortable with performing in front of a crowd.

Kathleen Harrison is a junior at the Polytechnic campus going for their Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry with a certificate in Sustainable Food Systems.  In addition to attending classes, Kathleen also works as a mortician.

Kathleen was seeking full-time employment after their departure from the military when they stumbled across a position as a removal technician for National Funeral Home in Falls Church, Virginia.  Essentially, removal technicians are “those who retrieve deceased people.”

If you’ve been juggling a lot this semester, junior Ci’mone Rogers is right there with you! With three separate internships and a full-time major in Business (Information Security), Ci’mone has had to introduce some new strategies in her life to make sure she’s staying balanced.

Amanda Mae Dielman has overcome the incredible challenge of moving across the country and starting college in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to pursue her passion for interior design and make Arizona her new home.

From relocating states at the onset of a global pandemic to dedicating months of work to physical growth, ASU student Adam Schoenfeld has persevered through many challenges this year. Adam’s latest feat was the 75-Day Hard Challenge, which consisted of two 45-minute workouts a day, one during the day and one at night. He was also required to drink a gallon of water a day and abstain from drinking alcohol for the entire duration of the challenge.

Frank

I chose to be a finance major because I love numbers, business, and talking to people. I want to go into management consulting or maybe investment banking after college. It’s all coming up soon for me because I’m a senior.
