From relocating states at the onset of a global pandemic to dedicating months of work to physical growth, ASU student Adam Schoenfeld has persevered through many challenges this year. Adam’s latest feat was the 75-Day Hard Challenge, which consisted of two 45-minute workouts a day, one during the day and one at night. He was also required to drink a gallon of water a day and abstain from drinking alcohol for the entire duration of the challenge.

I’ll be working over break at Target, and that’s about it. I love working there because it’s family-oriented and everybody knows each other. We’re all super-connected, and I just really like my coworkers! I’m a team captain of our e-commerce fulfilment team. It’s not the worst way to spend break!

“Devils in Depth” is a project that gets down to earth and captures the diversity of Arizona State’s student population. We engage in conversations with students in an effort to learn more about their passions and get a feel for who they really are.

Julio Lugo is a Copy Writer at the SDFC and one of the minds behind Devils in Depth. In Part Two of the two-part series, co-author Jeremy Beren sat down with Julio and asked him his thoughts on the themes covered this semester.

This month’s theme is fitness routines.

The new year is here, and many of us seek to improve ourselves with hopes and goals for the coming year. Whether it is to build your strength and endurance, keep organized, ace all your spring classes, or any other goal you want to crush this new year, here are some tips to help you create a better you in 2022.

There is often a sense of peace that accompanies the arrival at a mountain’s peak. Heart pumping and breathing heavy, you gaze at the view below with a feeling of accomplishment.

It turns out that there is actual scientific data to back these emotions.

Vinyasa is a popular style of yoga that focuses on dynamic, flowing sequences of poses. This Vinyasa class, taught by Hannah Rose, is great for beginners and experienced yogis, as you can tailor the moves to your preferred level of difficulty.

The workshop has a heavy emphasis on balancing poses, core strengthening, and inversions. Mindfulness is also explored during the session, and you get the chance to be meditative as you execute your poses.

The Sun Devil Fitness Complex has a wide variety of group wellness classes. Some students may be afraid to try new things or may have never even heard of the wellness classes that ASU provides. That’s where I come in. I’m here to show everyone what these classes are all about by sharing my experience in hopes that it may encourage others to try the class as well.

This time I decided to try out the Piladance class. I didn’t know what to expect going into the class and I don’t mind doing some dancing. On any occasion, my go-to dances are hittin’ my folk or milly rocking like so.
