Sun Devil Quidditch Makes History with Two National Tournament Bids!

The ASU Quidditch program made a fantastic start of the year. Their ASU team placed 2nd in their Regional tournament, winning an automatic bid to the National Tournament in Texas! Their second team, Sun Devil Quidditch (SDQ) worked solidly in the tournament as well, earning an At-Large-Bid to the National Tournament as well! This means for the first time in organization history, two teams will be competing at the biggest Quidditch stage possible-- an enormous win for Sun Devil Sport Clubs!

ASU performed solidly, going 4-1 in pool play with wins over UC Irvine, Utah State, University of Arizona, and University of Utah; losing only to Northern Arizona University. SDQ went 2-3 in pool play, beating Stanford and Wizards of Westwood (UCLA B team) and falling short against San Jose State, UCLA, and Cal.

ASU flexed its muscle and triumphed over UCLA and NAU in the playoffs making it to the finals, falling short to a talented Cal squad in the finals. SDQ fell to UC Irvine in their first round of bracket play, but earned the bid through their hard work and grit on the field. It is incredible to see how the teams have performed thus far. Good luck to ASU and SDQ as they prepare to bring home the National Tournament crown.
