The SDFC welcomes its newest facility—the Adaptive Training Center (ATC), which is used as a workout space for athletes with physical disabilities.

The facility is an expansion of the Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF), a nine week program originating in Dallas, Texas.

The program is designed to empower athletes with physical challenges and help them grow both mentally and physically. It is now running at ASU every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Ready to take on a new challenge for leg day? We have created a killer leg workout that can be completed in under 20 minutes. You can do it at home or here at the SDFC!

“Devils in Depth” is a project that gets down to earth and captures the diversity of Arizona State’s student population. We engage in conversations with students in an effort to learn more about their passions and get a feel for who they really are. Then we ask them their thoughts on a central theme. This time the theme was a simple and fun question.

Make time for yourself

As important as social interaction is, a healthy dose of alone time isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Don’t be afraid to say “no” to plans if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Being alone gives you time to relax and recharge. You can also reflect on the day that was and get creative with plans for the following day. When you have time to yourself, you have the space to identify your needs and tend to them.

If you love upbeat radio hits and burning calories, then Grind is for you! The class is a series of hip-hop dance combinations set to popular music. The dances are cardio-heavy and engage many body parts, but most of them center around shaking the hips.

The instructor, Danny, was helpful and motivating. He shouted constant words of encouragement and never stopped smiling. He explained that, at its simplest, Grind “is a class that focuses mainly on squeezing the core and the different movements that the hips can do.”

Julio Lugo is a Copy Writer at the SDFC and one of the minds behind Devils in Depth. In Part Two of the two-part series, co-author Jeremy Beren sat down with Julio and asked him his thoughts on the themes covered this semester.

The theme for this week was stress relief.

When we enter the SDFC and are greeted by the many friendly faces of the workers, do we ever stop to think about who they really are, what they are like? Probably not. There’s more to our employees meets the eye. I had the pleasure of sitting down and interviewing Madison about her life, inside and outside of the SDFC.

Julio: Can you tell us who you are?
